Nearly twenty-five years ago,in March 1987 National Soccer League announced the names of 17 clubs to form first non-racial Second division.Today the National First Division is having the number of sixteen teams that compete for promotion in the PSL.

The Premier Soccer League is facing an embarrassment as the National First Division(NFD) clubs have vowed not to fulfil the fixtures to start the games.
PSL and NFD currently locked in a meeting discussing the way forward for the first division and possibly see their fixtures begin as soon as possible.
The league was scheduled to start on the weekend of September 14 but did not,due to what NFD teams called misrepresentation of issues relating to grants and prize monies.

Khumalo also says that the public are interpreting the NFD situation,saying there is no truth that the NFD wants to split from PSL,rather that they simply want more power in the running of the league.
Issues causing conflicts between PSL/NFD
- Lack of communication
- No enough power to the NFD board members
- NFD treated unfairly when it comes decisions making
- No enough financially support from the PSL
This matter is not good for the South African football as they(NFD teams) all want to be on top to compete for positions and gain promotions to the PSL.
All we need is a clean management that will build the First National Division to keep up the big competition in the PSL.

They should just work together with PSL,together we can devided we fall which means if they just stand on their own they will stuck in a way somewhere somehow.
ReplyDeleteSticking around something that is not benefiting or giving you support is a waste of time...this is take it or leave it situation where the PSL have to meet the NFD demands.
DeleteRefusing to play is not a good move on the part of the NFD, however I do believe that they should be given more control over the decision making in the NFD. The PSL should come to a mutual understanding with the NFD league.

DeleteLack of communication is a major cause of ruining relationships, i think PSL and NFD head members should sit down and discuss about this issue so that the matters will soon be solved.

DeleteI believe that since it is a separate league the NFD should be allowed to govern themselves as it is more likely that they know what is best for them and their league.

DeleteI think that the NFD and the PSL should work out their issues before considering to be apart. PSL is able to guide the NFD because of being in the industry for a long time and having experience, therefore if they had to be seperated then it is a much more set back for the football developement in the country.
ReplyDeleteYeah a setback in football development but the contribution(financially) made by PSL is not really good enough for them to continue being controlled by them.
DeleteI think that since the NFD is a league on its own it should be given the rihgt to operate on its own without the interference of major leagues such as the PSL.

ReplyDeletethe mismanagement and lack of communication among two groups(psl and nfd)seems as a mojor issues. firstly it was an issue of sponsorship now its an issue of trust among two groups. i agree with nfd if they say they are teated as "the second best" what ever decisions that are being made by psl,they usually left out of it.
ReplyDeleteAgree wuth you and if one is not interested involving you,it is better to be on your own to make your own decisions than forcing yourself on something that does not need your contribution.
Deletethere shoul not be a devision between this two sides, remember PSL teams come from NFD if isues are not resolved it might change the relationship they have.
ReplyDeleteNot an easy thing to do because the PSL seems to be adopting European style after the meeting they had with the president of European football.

ReplyDeletei think its best for the two to part away this will give the first division to do things on there own and stop depending on PSL for survival. I mean they want to increase there annual payments so it will best if they get there own sponsors
